DEEA is a smart energy platform designed to help businesses and councils transform energy from a cost into a strategic asset. Built in partnership with DEECA, it combines real-time monitoring, AI-powered recommendations, and verified impact tracking to drive savings, compliance, and carbon reduction across Victoria.

But now, we’re going further by solving one of the most urgent and overlooked problems in the renewable transition: solar panel waste.

The Problem: Solar Panel Waste Is Mounting

Australia is facing a silent crisis. Thousands of aging solar panels are reaching end-of-life, with limited recycling pathways and no scalable reuse strategy. Landfills are absorbing what should be circular infrastructure.

• By 2030, over 100,000 tonnes of solar waste expected nationally

• Councils and businesses lack viable alternatives

Our Solution: Solar Sleeves & Film Integration

We’re now integrating next-gen solar sleeves and flexible solar film emerging tech from China and Southeast Asia into DEEA’s platform. These ultra-thin, adhesive-backed solar strips can be retrofitted onto existing surfaces (walls, windows, rooftops, even vehicles), offering:

• Low-cost deployment with minimal structural requirements

• High-efficiency capture in low-light and angled conditions

• Modular replacement without full panel teardown

• Reduced landfill impact by repurposing degraded panels into sleeve-ready substrates

We’re in the process of procuring this technology for pilot deployment across council buildings, hospitality rooftops, and regional infrastructure.

 How It Fits Into DEEA

DEEA’s Smart Energy Gateway and Action Hub will now support:

• Solar Sleeve Mapping: Identify viable surfaces and simulate output

• Carbon Offset Tracking: Quantify CO₂ reduction from sleeve deployment

• Green Credit Rewards: Incentivize businesses to adopt sleeve tech

• AFSS Compliance Reporting: Integrate sleeve data into fire safety and ESG documentation

This turns solar waste into a government-aligned savings engine one that councils can fund, businesses can adopt, and DEECA can validate.

Funding Requirement

We are seeking A$750K in pre-seed investment to:

• Procure and test solar sleeve/film technology

• Integrate sleeve logic into DEEA’s dashboard and gateway firmware

• Launch pilot programs with councils and hospitality venues

• Expand AFSS compliance modules to include sleeve-based offsets

• Build the Energy Futures marketplace with sleeve-linked incentives

This round supports technical integration, pilot deployment, and strategic alignment with DEECA’s circular energy goals.
