Nano-Bee: Thermal Ablation & Extraction
Minimally Invasive Nano therapy for Early-Stage Brain Tumors
Nano-Bee is a radical new platform for treating micro-scale brain tumors designed to liquefy malignant tissue with precision thermal ablation and extract it through a microscopic nasal canal using autonomous nanobots. Our goal is simple but profound: extend patient survival, reduce surgical trauma, and make glioblastoma care more humane, scalable, and cost-effective.
The Problem We’re Solving
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) remains one of the deadliest cancers, with survival rates under 15 months and limited options for early-stage intervention. Tumors under 5 mm are often deemed “inoperable” due to their location, size, and the risks of open craniotomy. Even when removed, residual malignant cells frequently seed recurrence.
Current therapies radiation, chemotherapy, and resection are invasive, imprecise, and often devastating. Patients endure neurological complications, long recovery times, and limited hope for remission.
Nano-Bee offers a new path.
Our Solution: Melt, Capture, Extract
Nano-Bee uses swarms of titanium-shell nanobots equipped with MEMS heaters and pore-valves to:
Thermally liquefy tumor tissue with sub-0.5 mm precision
Load the viscous mass into their hollow cores via heat-actuated pores
Self-propel through a 2 mm endonasal micro-canal for non-surgical extraction
This zero-incision, outpatient-ready procedure is designed to complement chemotherapy and extend survival by removing tumor mass early before it spreads or resists treatment.
Technology Stack
MEMS Thermal Actuators: Pt-resistor heaters with closed-loop PID control
NiTi Micro-Valves: Fast-response pore arrays for controlled uptake
Magnetic or Enzyme Propulsion: Navigation through curved nasal canals
Titanium Drainage Funnel: Orthopedic-grade micro-pipe for safe extraction
NECTAR Control System: Swarm AI for coordinated targeting and safety
LIMINA Overlay: Real-time feedback and procedural guidance
Validated in rodent models and synthetic nasal cavities, the system shows promise for safe, precise, and repeatable tumor removal.
Clinical Pathway
MRI Detection → Stereotactic Injection → Thermal Activation
Endonasal Canal Placement → Heated-Melt Extraction
Outpatient Recovery in under 30 minutes
A validated nasal conditioning protocol (saline rinse, NAC gel, lidocaine spray) ensures safe passage and minimal mucosal disruption.
